BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The main objectives of the PPTA were to: (a) analyze and propose measures to strengthen rural water supply and sanitation development programs in the two oblasts; (b) prepare a program for capacity building of local governments; (c) prepare subprojects for upgrading water supply and sanitation facilities. The Project consists of two parts: Physical Infrastructure, and Institutional Development. Physical infrastructure part consists of 12 subprojects; each covering a cluster of villages. The subprojects include developing and rehabilitating piped water supply systems; public and school latrines; and wastewater facilities. Institutional Development includes a capacity-building program, hygiene and sanitation education program and consulting services for project management support. Team of IKS Consulting consultants involved in all aspects of conceptual design and implementation of the project. Participated in development of conceptual approach to involving customers and stakeholders in the implementation of water supply projects. Assisted to municipal authorities (khokimiyats) to formally establish relevant agencies and conducted training locally for them. Particularly, they performed the following tasks:
