BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
 
In response to the Government’s urgent request ADB has approved the PPTA Project to formulize the Emergency Loan to the Government of Uzbekistan for further improvement the supply of potable water to rural settlements in the Aral Sea area, particularly in response to the worsening consequences of drought during the past two years. The Project area specifically covers the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan and the neighbouring province (oblast) of Khorezm in northwest Uzbekistan. Both areas have a high proportion of population with very low income.

The consultants have developed a feasibility study report which became as a basic document for the Loan agreement between the ADB and Government of Uzbekistan. IKS Consulting team provided after Project completion consultations to Government of Uzbekistan and worked together with Ministry of Finance on development of the Loan agreement and Government Resolution on implementation of the ADB Loan Project.
