BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The objective of the PPTA project is to assist Government of Tajikistan by preparing the investment Project suitable for ADB financing, which will aim to rehabilitate and modernise the existing facilities in southern Tajikistan, covering generation, transmission, and distribution of the electric power.

The IKS Consulting team of consultants are providing the following consultancy services:

  • Review and update of the existing load forecast and analyse relevant options for reducing the power deficit;
  • Review of hydropower sector issues and prepare of a least-cost development plan for Tajik southern power system;
  • Conduct assessment of the 4 hydropower plants located on Vakhsh river for rehabilitation and assessment of the rehabilitation needs for the transmission and distribution system in Khatlon region of Tajikistan;
  • Screen and rank subprojects to support tariff policies;
  • Feasibility study of the top-ranked subprojects;
  • Technical, economic and financial evaluation of proposed Project;
  • Preparation of detailed cost estimates;
  • Preparation of IEE report, including brief assessment of options and project components, and analysis of potential direct and indirect impacts.
