YEAR: 2004 – 2005 CLIENT: Asian Development Bank BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The TA includes an initial economic assessment of off-grid energy options, providing at minimum the relative costs of small hydropower (new and rehabilitation of existing systems), agricultural biomass/biogas, solar, wind, and other energy options. The Project was originally designed to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the potential for renewable energy options in small towns and rural areas in Uzbekistan and to develop a pilot scheme of technically and financially viable renewable energy options in selected off-grid areas IKS Consulting has undertaken the review of initial data regarding the energy supply situation on the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the energy supply from renewable energy sources. Detailed socioeconomic and environmental analysis has been conducted during the Project. Consultants have designed the selection criteria for identification the potential sub-projects for further ADB Loan financing. Consultants in collaboration with IRG team has drafted various reports to ADB and to the Government of Uzbekistan and conducted number of Project awareness workshops and capacity building programs for management and operational staff of concerned stakeholders of the Project. |
