The Project has assisted the Government of Uzbekistan to support the formulation of a strategy for corporate governance and restructuring enterprises; launch restructuring initiatives in the state enterprise sector; rationalize and strengthen the enabling policy, legal, and regulatory framework within which the corporate sector operates; and enhance the capacity for regulatory oversight of enterprises in a market-based environment.
IKS Consulting consultants have participated in all phases of project preparation, and contributed in the following aspects: (i) identification of the macroeconomic impact of foreign exchange-denominated liabilities on selected insolvent state owned enterprises (SOEs) and enterprises with State shares, and preparation of the profile of major sectors in which the SOEs operate; (ii) review of the industry restructuring plan and list of SOEs that can potentially be restructured and prepare due diligence reports for those enterprises.
